Sherman Burns

The official band site for Sherman Burns, a Boston-based progressive grunge band. The site includes custom post types for reviews, articles, and gigs. Many of the individual graphics for the site were pulled from album art for the band’s recent CD. I also included several embedded fonts to give the site a more unique look.

The home page features a linked excerpt from the About page, one full blog post, and a list of additional recent blog posts. The sidebar includes an embedded BandCamp media player.

At the bottom of many pages is a list of the band's upcoming gigs. One of my favorite elements of this site's design is the footer.

Tour Page

The Tour page lists the band's upcoming shows in detail, using a WordPress custom post type I created. This post type includes a variety of fields, including date, location, and ticket price.

Blog

In addition to standard blog posts, the blog page displays recent Articles and Reviews, both custom post types.

Article

The Article custom post type is intended to display articles from outside sources, and includes fields specific to those sources.

This page displays the most recent reviews from external sources.

Similar to Articles, the Review custom post type is configured with fields relevant to the original source of the review.

About

This page provides a good example of a picture with caption, which I designed to be reminiscent of a polaroid photo.

Source Graphics

Many of the individual graphics used in the site design were taken from this album art provided by the band. I sliced the useful images from this composite and arranged them in a way much more suitable for use in a website.

Jared was excellent to work with. We got together, told him what we had in mind for the site, and he came back with something better than we had even imagined. The website has been huge in helping us promote our music professionally and easily. The site is visually stunning, and the navigation is intuitive. I will absolutely go through Jared for all of my web needs in the future, and recommend him highly to anyone in need of designer with the technical and creative experience to produce the best product possible.
